T-Mobile can be described as a ‘Mobile Network Operator’ headquartered in the city of Bonn in Germany. It is ‘Deutsche Telekom’s’ subsidiary and goes with ‘FreeMove Business Alliance’. T-Mobile can be referred to as a faction of ‘Mobile Phone Corporate Subsidiaries’ operating UMTS and GSM networks in the US as well as Europe. The significance of ‘T’ is ‘Telekom’. Majority of Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiaries have names starting with ‘T-‘such as T-Online, T-Systems, and T-Home.

There are financial stakes of T-Mobile in the mobile operators located in Eastern Europe. Universally, there are around 101 m subscribers of T-Mobile, thereby making it 6th largest provider of ‘Mobile Phone Service’ and 3rd largest MNC after Spain’s Telefonica and UK’s Vodafone. T-Mobile can boast of being the 4th largest network regarding wireless communications in the US after AT & T, ‘Verizon Wireless’, and ‘Sprint Nextel Corp’.

T-Mobile International is present in 11 countries of Europe. They include the UK, Slovakia, Poland, the Netherlands, Montenegro, Macedonia, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia, and Austria. Off late, Deutsche Telekom had made an attempt of acquiring opponent ‘Mobile Network Operator’ O2. However, its acquisition could be done by Telefonica of Spain in 2006.

Apart from sponsorship of West Bromwich Albion, Ferencvarosi TC, and FC Bayern Munich and partial sponsorship of ‘Birmingham City F.C’, T-Mobile sponsors a number of sports events. Some of them bear the name of the company. For instance- ‘Austrian 1st division football competition’ is sponsored by T-Mobile. It is known by the name ‘T-Mobile Bundesliga’. It had also acted as ‘The Official Mobile Phone Carrier’ for ‘2006 FIFA World Cup (football)’ that was held in Germany. Its own team of cycling was self-sponsored, known as the ‘T-Mobile Team’. The company had announced that they intend in acquiring ‘Siemens Wireless Modules’ as JOMA consortium’s part. Deal is supposed to conclude in the month of May.
